Providing effective, low-cost education for our members is a priority for MMTA

Providing effective, low-cost education for our members is a priority for MMTA. We continually develop new workshops and seminars on a wide variety of topics. Recent topics have included forklift training, safety compliance, brake adjustment certification, drug and alcohol testing, hazardous materials regulations, and more.

 

MMTA also holds the following special events throughout the year:

 

  • Management Conference: Our annual Management Conference offers educational workshops for motor carrier owners and executives as well as opportunities for networking and recreation.
  • Bull & Oyster Roast/Shrimp Feast: These two events, which include trade shows, great food, music, and fun, are popular incentives for members’ employees and customers.
  • Golf Outing: To benefit the Association’s Political Action Committee, MMTA members participate in our annual golf outing.
  • Person of the Year Banquet: MMTA hosts an annual banquet to honor an individual as our Person of the Year, in recognition of his or her outstanding service to the trucking industry. Proceeds from the event are used to provide financial support to students enrolled in trucking/transportation-related programs at MMTA-member community colleges.
